The Monica Anntrice Polk Surviving Dependents Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is named in honor of our Founders’ niece Monica A. Polk who lost her life to domestic violence in October of 2001. Each year our nonprofit will honor 2 deserving college students that have experienced this same loss as Monica’s children. Each student will be awarded $500 to go towards their undergrad studies. 

 

Deadline: December 25th

Scholarships will be awarded January 25th

Applicant Requirements:

  • Must have lost a parent to domestic violence.

  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

  • Must provide a 500-word essay of how the said loss of your parent impacted you in life and how you have managed to move forward.

  • Must have an official or unofficial transcript.

  • Must provide 2 letters of recommendation, one from your school Advisor/Counselor and another from a family or friend.
